Don ~ Sightings ~ Don and the Fan Grrrrls.

Saturday, August 6, 2005 ~ Cabaret Night

I think I mentioned that the hotel is down one elevator. I finally grab an elevator, and it's packed. I sighed and mumble, "You know! Let's have a con in Joisey ~ and let's have only one working elevator! Yee haaa!"

The Creation Con guy standing next to me wasn't happy 'But I only book the talent' ~ but like I told him, nobody's blaming CreationCon about the elevator, but hey, we'd LUVVVVVV to see Dan Shea out East next year.

"Dan Shea was at our Burbank con," he reminds me.

"Yes, but some of us New Yawkers can't afford to go to Burbank for a con!" I remind him.

So, just in case Dan Shea shows up next year in Joisey, you can thank one crowded elevator.

When my sister and I try to get the elevator again, we have to wait fifteen or so minutes, when it finally gets to our floor, we hear a lot of giggling even before the door opens. The door opens, and it's Peter Williams with thirty women crammed in the mirrored elevator. He looked happy ~ as did the girls.

Janet and I had front row, dead center tixs for cabaret. Upon reflection, I probably should have gotten the general admission tixs as they were cheaper, but it was nice to have dead center, front row seats, as for once, our pics came out.

I've included some on this page and the next so you can see.

Alexis Cruz's monologue was a little racy and I believe some people were offended though he really didn't use any bad language, just a lot of rather impressive hip rocking and a rolling and some suggestive language, but come on, Cabaret is for adults, so it's their own fault.
What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret.

Put down the knitting,
The book and the broom.
Time for a holiday.

Life is Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret.
Come taste the wine, Come hear the band.
Come blow your horn, Start celebrating;
Right this way,
Your table's waiting

Life is a Cabaret
