In this case, Sam Steele, who was part of the North West Mounted Patrol (the Mounties) is dealing with an American (Don Davis) caught with marked cards, who protested that he had rights as a U.S. citizen. (Well D'oh! You're in Canada!) Steele confiscated all of his goods and had a Mounties escort him on the 50 km. climb to the border.

The actor that portrays Sam Steele is Alan Scarfe, who was seen in Stargate Atlantis: Poisoning the Well.
