My cell phone went off at 2:50am. I didn’t recognize the number that early but I realized it was past 2:30 and that’s when we were supposed to get up. With William picking us up at 3am, we had to scramble and get moving. Grabbing our luggage, we made it downstairs to the lobby and found William at the front desk. The guy at the desk helped us take a photo of the three of us with my camera, and then we got into William’s car and took off for the airport in Richmond. Once we got there, it was hard to say bye and leave, but we all hugged and William took another picture of us with his camera.
Our flight departed on time despite the overcast. We landed in Chicago, IL at the O’Hare airport around noon, and since our departure wasn’t until 2:45pm, we were able to grab lunch at McDonald’s and find our terminal, which again was far from where we were. Once we got there, I watched Family Guy on my iPod Touch and listened to some music until it was time to leave. We boarded a smaller plane and departed on time with a smooth ride to Allentown, PA. Landing around 6pm, it was a gorgeous 80ºF with sunny skies and a light breeze. We jumped in my mom’s Jeep and went home.
