Gerard is "Dr. Andy Harrison". Andy is charge of a scientific base located at the Antarctica. Due to a last minute mission in deteroriating weather conditions, the brave sled dogs are left behind to fend for themselves.
Since this is a Disney movie, it's a real eight hanky movie as it's really sad. Sel sniffled through out the entire movie.
